Christmas now seems as far away as ever as we look forward to the summer months, with lighter nights and warmer weather. We started back training on January 11th, the sessions again being well attended, with the addition of two new players to the squad bringing the total to 14. At this rate we will have enough players to field two teams if everyone turns up on a Sunday. This can only be good for the future, but is posing something of a selection problem at the moment, with a maximum of eight players allowed on the field at any one time.

During January we played two rounds of matches at Bancffosfelin and Pentrehafod. Unfortunately, the last round of matches at Pen-Yr-Heol was called off due to a frozen pitch. Next month we are looking forward to our first home games on February 19th. Opposition to be announced in due course.

Finally, I would like to thank Andrew and Gaynor Randell for securing sponsorship from Rhys and Nicki at the Tafarn-Y-Felin public house in Swiss Valley for the sum of £250. Rhys and Nicki raised the money by raffling a mountain bike in the pub donated by the brewery. The money will be used to purchase training tops for the girls. The tops will have the Tafarn-Y-Felin name printed on them and a photograph will be taken to place in the local press when they arrive.
